Rebranding:
Shenzhen Middle School Student Carnival

Shenzhen Middle School is my home school in Shenzhen, China. Unlike many other middle schools, the students in SMS not only reveal their competitive side in the examination field, but also their creative side when planning large or small school events.

The SMS Student Carnival is one of the most significant annual events in the campus, which is totally organized by student organizations and held by individual student stallholders. It has been held for more than 10 years.

The Student Carnival is open to the society and welcome all citizens to visit. In the event, student stallholders could sell their original or selected products, introduce their clubs and cultures, promote their organizations, and perform on the open stage.

The Student Activity Association would organize to prepare the venue layout and the public manuals. Usually, the branding and design style of these supplies might vary, thus I wish to provide a rebranding plan for this historical and meaningful event.

Current Keywords:

I wish to popularize the event to the society and build up a continuous branding styles for it throughout the rebranding process. By extracting some current identities of the event, I set up a direction of designing style for futural rebranding.

Rebranding Process

I extracted several organic shape elements from the mark of SMS, and chose to use a pastel palette to reflect the vitality and youth of students.

Based on these elements, I started to develop a prototype of the mark on a sector area.
