Background

The College of Communication Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee exists to elevate and ensure a culture of inclusion in which all members of our community are valued and respected.

COM DEI is looking to bring awareness on DEI topics and create a sense of community among its stakeholders to highlight how uniqueness brings us together and adds value to our personal and professional lives.

Concept

In order to build a community, we need to understand one another. By sharing stories and experiences, we can change our perspectives on DEI and generate conversation to do just that.

Using this concept, we will share stories of COM staff, alumni, and students. We will also encourage our followers to think about how we can connect with each other—whether that comes from something in common or through a similar DEI experience.  And finally, we will attach easy-to-answer questions to get COM members engaged and start discussions on social media.
